Meet The Doulas
Co-Owner
Angelene Love-Adams
Hi there—I’m Angelene, your full-spectrum doula, lactation supporter, and community educator. As co-owner of Wrapped in Love, I provide culturally grounded, heart-centered support throughout the perinatal journey. Whether I’m offering birth and postpartum doula care, in-home lactation visits, or childbirth education, my goal is to help families feel seen, supported, and empowered every step of the way.
I’m trained as a DONA International Birth Doula, CCI Doula, SMC Doula, and Survivor Moms’ Companion (SMC) Tutor, and I’m a certified Community Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS). These tools and trainings support my mission of offering trauma-informed, inclusive care that truly meets families where they are.
Outside of Wrapped in Love, I wear a few other crowns—including my role as the Human Milk Transport Coordinator for Mama’s Mobile Milk, where I help connect lactating parents and their babies when separation makes feeding more complex. I also support trauma-informed care as a Community Partnership Specialist with the Survivor Moms’ Companion program.

Dera Williams, LCE

Dera Williams is a Lactation Counselor and Educator (LCE), WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, and full-spectrum doula trained by DONA, CCI, and Shafia Monroe’s Culturally Competent African American Postpartum Care program. She is Co-owner of Wrapped in Love Doula & Lactation Services and serves as a QI-TRACS Project Assistant, supporting maternal health equity initiatives.
Dera’s journey into birth and breastfeeding work began with her own experiences as a young single mother navigating an often biased and broken healthcare system. Those challenges ignited her passion to become the advocate she once needed—especially for Black women and birthing people who deserve respectful, informed, and culturally rooted care.
With over a decade of experience through WIC and private practice, Dera is known for providing compassionate, evidence-based care through every phase of the journey—prenatal, birth, postpartum, and lactation. Her training with Shafia Monroe equips her to honor traditional postpartum healing practices while providing modern, holistic support that centers the needs of Black families.
In addition to her birthwork, Dera is a breastmilk jewelry artist, helping parents preserve and celebrate their feeding journeys with custom keepsakes. As a proud mother and part of a blended family of six, Dera combines lived experience with professional knowledge to uplift, educate, and empower every family she serves.

Full-spectrum also means flexible and ethical. If at any point we’re not the best fit for your needs, we will support you in finding someone who is—through warm, trusted referrals within our broader birth and lactation community.

Our
Story
Wrapped in Love was born from the belief that healing happens in relationship. Founded by a Black doula and lactation counselor with lived experience and professional training, our roots are grounded in generations of caregiving, food wisdom, and birth justice. What started as one person showing up in homes with love, herbs, food, and support has blossomed into a growing village that holds families through all phases of birth and beyond.
